About KS7TAN

Stan Hamnett, KE7VKQ (changed to a vanity call sign for convenience KS7TAN on May 5, 2009), became a licensed Ham operator in August 2008. I have always had a desire to be a Ham Operator from childhood when a group of us teenagers from our church went to our Pastor's house for a social event only to discover he had a Ham Shack in his backyard. I then, said to myself, I would love to do this someday -- which is now some 50 years later - never to late to do anything - Reach for your dreams.

Most all the time M-F 0800 hrs to 1500 hrs I monitor 147.300 + offset with a PL 110.9, Weeknights and Weekends I monitor 146.880 - offset PL 110.9

I have been married Annie Victoria (Vickie)Hamnett since April 22, 1967. We have two very successful children, James and Jennifer.

I went on to join the Air Force - not as graphic intensive as the flash version >>> (flash version website of the Air Force, some real cool graphics - note: high speed internet connection required to view this website)in Jan 1967, spent 12 1/2 years as an Aircraft Mechanic/Flight Engineer, and cross-trained to become a Drug/Alcohol Abuse Counselor for 12 1/2 years, and retired in August 1991. I am currently am the Gospel Rescue Mission Men's Center Program Director.

I am an active Member of Pima County RACES also serve as their webmaster. I also work in PC RACES Hospital emergency communications.

I assisted Gail Peterson N7BXX teach a Technician's Class in April 2009. What a fantastic time I had. This was my first time to assist teaching, and plan to continue helping.
